FWIW, I recommend this article in the April 7 issue of New York Magazine. In it, John Heilemann offers the fascinating scenario of Hillary Clinton successfully wooing the brains of John and Elizabeth Edwards in an NC meeting after Edwards withdrew from the nomination race. According to Democratic scuttlebutt provided by the article, whereas Obama was dismissive and edgy in a similar meeting with the Edwardses, HRC managed to be a good listener, an informed discussant, and all-round impressive even to Elizabeth Edwards, previously no fan. If any of this is accurate, it is hugely interesting to me, a long-time Clinton foe. Rattling enough to make me wonder if I have been wrong about her. Wrong to whoop at the bullet-dodging tale of Bosnia, wrong to find her smiles and increasingly manifest people skills about as real as Bush’s brain, and wrong to generally dismiss her as I have in earlier posts here.
We shall see. I half hope I have been terribly wrong so that, should she win the nomination, the pain of marking a ballot for her will be less than I anticipate.
Must also note that I thought she asked Petraeus the best question I heard at the recent hearings on the Hill.
Edit: oops. Nothing has changed. She is still the Sniper in Chief.

Do you believe in supporting your local and national politician with your hard earned $$$?
Propelled by her husband’s post-White House earnings, Sen. Hillary’s average net worth soared from red ink to $30.7 million between 2000 and 2006…the fastest financial climb among members of Congress who arrived with low assets!
According to her tax returns she and her hubby earned $109 million over the last eight years.
I reckon you gotta be a Democrat to be among the richest members of Congress..ie; Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif at $409 million, Sen. John Kerry, D-MA at $267.8 million, Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-MA average net worth jumped $95 million from 1995 to 2006.
These millionaires get all the breaks…free postage, free meals, haircuts and no cost medical with a golden parachute for retirement benefits. All at the expense of Joe Q. Taxpayer…YOU AND ME!
