Gotta say that good as George Bush 43 made Bill Clinton look, the ex pres has been major tiresome during his wife’s campaign. I can see the stats that make the in-crowd call for Hillary as Obama’s veep, but I like Obama way too much to imagine him waking up every day of the next four years anticipating Hillary and, far worse, Bill. Seems to me WJC has more than proved during this last round that he is a loose cannon. What I think we need are all new canons. Maybe a spot for Hillary in the Cabinet, but keep the VP spot for someone who actually believes we all voted for Obama because we trust him, because we believe he will be the leader we want
Remember the opening line of Sir Gawaine: Something like The knight went pricking on the plain……?
I am for letting WJC continue to do that and letting Obama sort out the country,

BO’s first move after selecting his veep should be to fire Dr. Dean as head of the DNC…talk about needing to sort things out. The dems debacle of the saga of the ‘Super Delegates’ is better than science fiction.
Let’s get thru the November election before you stroke BO about sorting out anything!

There needs to be some way voters can pressure Obama to put HRC on the ticket. Do any of you know polls or places to go?
3 admin // Jun 9, 2008 at 5:31 pm
Sophie, I hope very much that HRC is NOT added to the ticket. I am not a fan of hers at all. But I appreciate your comment. Perhaps the HRC website has some sort of petition or something. Have you checked?

Sophie, I will go out on a limb and predict that BO will not venture into Clinton quicksand and ask her to be his veep.
To quote former Pres. Jimma Carter..”It would showcase both their negatives.”
I do think however, that BO may place HRC in a cabinet postiton or somewhere to keep his thumb on her as well as allay outright the possible Clinton attack machine..which knows no bounds if released.

On the other hand, many will stay home or vote for McCain…all over the web with this, especially at realclearpolitics.com. I for one, will not vote, in protest to the sexism in the dem party and the media. I have been a life-long democrat, but fair is fair. She deserves it, and should be on the ticket.

why do you think “she deserves it,” Sophie?
7 Sophie // Jun 11, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Because she is very qualified, and got the majority of the popular vote, leads in the electoral college, and has the important states. She brings with her 18 million voters. It should be a law that the runner up is on the ticket. She also deserves it because she is an immensely qualified woman, and has worked hard for this historic feat.

How can she lead in the electoral college? That group is called only in the case of a national presidential election.
I agree she has worked hard, but except for a few years in a law firm in Alabama and 6 (?) years as a senator, what has she done that makes her qualified. Does being the pres’ wife make her qualified to own the vice presidency? I sure would hate to have you guys support me just because I am female. Hard to take much pride in an accident of birth.

With your opinion, don,t worry, I won’t (if you become female). I don’t support the women who threw their support to Obama! HRC CERTAINLY has more experience than Obama, who has very, very little to be hired for this office. It is only because people like Chris Matthews felt a tingle go up his leg everytime he heard/saw Obama. What is it with you men (?). Anyway, the new polls show that even white men are not supporting him. He was an instant rock star, and the glory is fading. And, what do we have left…a very inexperienced person. He NEEDS Hillary…or he is doomed.

Rave on ladies! I am far from being a HRC fan, in fact I think she is a threat to the health and wel being of this country, but….she is heads above BO in experience based upon her political life.
I would never cast a vote, just because of someone’s gender or color.

LOL, Sophie. I thought I told you some responses ago that I am a woman. A woman who has no use for the ego and self-aggrandizement of Hillary Clinton.
We might combine and instruct Tex in the ways of logical debate.

If you are Sharon, from the resume…wow! I got my BS from Purdue in 1959, a masters later, doctorate from Oklahoma State. We were maybe there at the same time. Left summer of 1960 for California (Davis), then returned 3 years later when Reagan ran most of the academics out. Bet we had the same profs. Good knowing you…if this if you! Saw JFK, while there, and worked on Bobby’s campaign later…almost went to on a bus to Selma. Was a peace marcher, and a marcher for lots of things in California. Was inspired by Joe Stockdale in the Theater Dept. Did you know him? Anyway, more later…going to crash now.

Duly noted Puffin..the single shot went over my head! Logical debate would be a godsend here…why don’t you open a category whereby those of us less logical then thou can express an opinion on a subject of our choosing? Hey, it’s your blog..do with it what you will, but all we of the lower stata of knowledge can only respond to what you throw up! ::no pun intended::
I think I do recall, on another channel, you calling me a “mean piece”…and a “Burcher”…does that qualify for name calling, or is that you are exempt from such blather?
14 admin // Jun 12, 2008 at 7:56 pm
TEx, with due respect and some affection, I cannot figure out how to verbally duel with you since you ignore most of the specifics that I post and, rather, go back to name calling. I do not recall ever calling you a Bircher. if I did, I apologize. To do so was clearly not to dispute logically.
Sophie, I was at Purdue for the first Masters in English ever granted. Indeed, they had to make it an MS because of land grant requirements. And that cost me some slanted eyebrows down the road. The only profs I recall was Donner in English Dept. and some old guy who taught short stories and had studied under Kittredge at Harvard. Nice to know we were probably colleagues at one time.
