I hold no brief for Wesley Clark but he is right in this instance. Falling out of a plane and being held captive and tortured is not documentation for being president.
I surely give Senator McCain points for his suffering and service to the country. But none of us should confuse that service for a reason to make him president. Sentiment is fine but not when it confuses what it takes to be a successful and admirable prisoner for what it takes to be president.
This appears to me to be yet another example of the logical fallacies by which we live:
All POWs deserve to be president
McCain was a POW
Therefore, McCain deserves to be president.
