What can we do? Refuse to support those who believe animals are fodder for our amusement and tormet and experimentation, sign the World Society for the Protection of Animals petition, and become financially supportive of and loud about these organizations.

McCain is not the worst of the worst and has voted for some bills that protect animals and birds—e.g., the bill that prevents birds being shipped inter-state for cockfighting purposes. But he rated no more than 40% on one of the human society gradings.

Notice, too, that sites such as On the Issues do not even list animal rights as an issues area.

We have lots to do, and thanks to Julian’s site for reminding us.
