Just when I think I will not again mention Sarah Palin, she appears spouting more insidious nonsense. This time, she rakes up Obama’s private Weatherman, with whom he sat on a board in Chicago some years ago.

Linking Bill Ayers to Obama is, of course, the McCain camp’s desperate attempt to equate 60’s homegrown radicals who inexplicably got miffed at the Viet Nam war and racism with 9/11. Can’t happen. Ayers, currently a distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois in Chicago, was a radical, married a radical, and probably still thinks that America of the 60’s hardly ever carries a bomb in his briefcase these days. And, as the fact-check link noted above indicates, his relation with Obama is largely a shared interest in social justice.
